Uglydolls
Uglydolls are a line of toys which have been steadily increasing in popularity
since their introduction in 2002, due to their unique "ugly" aesthetic, endearing
characters, and wide appeal to all ages. In 2006, the toys were awarded the
Specialty Toy of the Year award by the Toy Industry of America.
The idea for the Uglydoll characters came from independent toy designers David Horvath and
Sun-Min Kim. In an interview in issue 42 of Giant Robot Magazine, Horvath related how he
would write letters to his wife Sun-Min Kim while she was away in Korea and sign them with
a drawing of the orange character who would become Wage. The first plush toy was a handmade
Christmas present made by Sun-Min for David of Wage. Upon showing the doll to a friend at
Giant Robot (an independent toy store in Los Angeles), Horvath managed to unintentionally
pitch the doll as a product, and the business was started.
The first commercially available Uglydolls were 12" plush toys, handmade by Sun-Min Kim in 2002.
The Uglys are still handmade. Being handmade, each doll tends to have slight variations from
others like it, which can add to a sense of uniqueness. Each doll comes with a small tag
describing the character's distinctive personality.
The toys are sold primarily at independent and specialty toy retailers, but not in mainstream toy
stores.

Wage
Wage is a hard worker just like you!
He works at the local Super Mart and wears his apron to serve his customers best.
Does Super Mart know that Wage works there? Nope. But Wage doesn't mind.
He likes to put things in bags especially snacks.
Wage is best friends with Babo but there is always room for one more (you).
The two of them can often be found on the sidewalk trying to make friends
with fire hydrants phone booths and other lonely creatures. Wage hates for anyone to be lonely!
What's with that look? Is Wage happy? Sure he is! He smiles on the inside.
The next time you go grocery shopping remember to take Wage along on your adventures.

Babo
Babo will protect you. Having a bad day? Someone giving you a hard time? Babo's got your back.
What Babo lacks in mind power he makes up for in love. He's everybody's best friend.
He will stick with you to the end and when something scary happens.
He will send you a nice greeting card from wherever it is he runs away to.
A very curious and mischievous creature. Babo may need some guidance and parenting
so make sure to bring him with you to as many places as possible.
Leaving him at home is fine but please put all cookies and money on the highest shelf.

Cinko
Cinko is the Uglydoll of the deep.
Keep him away from water though…he can't swim!
Cinko is a little opinionated but has a funny sense of humor.
He likes to waddle around and stick his tongue out at everything and everyone.
Because this is not polite for people to do Cinko makes the perfect pal!
Instead of sticking your tongue out at folks- just hold up Cinko and let him do it for you!
Cinko looks up to his older brother (Target) and follows him around wherever he goes.
If you tape a red button to your forehead- Cinko will follow you too!

Target
Target is the oldest and the wisest of the Uglydolls. He is also the hairiest.
The other Uglydolls are a bit scared of Target's body hair and wonder why he has so many arms.
But they come running to Target when there are questions to be answered.
Old age may bring Uglydolls extra arms and whiskers but it also brings wisdom and foresight.
Target is often bailing the other Uglydolls out of trouble and getting them into more sophisticated forms of mischief.

Tray
Tray is the brain of the bunch.
Not because she is smart, but because she has three brains...one
in each lump, or one per eye, as Babo likes to point out.
Tray is also the hungriest of all the Uglydolls, and has a desperate need for Blueberry Pie.
Some say her eyes are blue because of her craving for it.
Tray often combines her hunger for pie with her brainpower to talk Babo into getting food for her.
Unfortunately, Babo usually brings back a branch, a rock, or something even less tasty.
If you want to make Tray extra happy, sit her next to you in the subway,
or in your car. It makes her feel important.

Jeero
Jeero wants to hang out with you. Why? He needs you.
Jeero thinks life is so complicated so he needs you to comfort him.
Wage and Babo ask him so many questions and he isn't sure what makes them think he has any of the answers.
Maybe they think his red nose means he's Jeero the wise. Well he's not! What time is it? Jeero has no idea.
How do you get from here to there? Don't ask…Jeero doesn't know!
Jeero just wants to sit on the couch with you and eat some snacks. Is that too much to ask?
Jeero doesn't know but he does know that it's time for you to cancel your plans and hang out with the Uglydolls.

Ice Bat
Ice Bat, comes from an Ice Cave and loves hiding inside Ice Chests.
Everything he touches turns to Iceyet profoundly he warms your heart.
Ice Bat thinks you are cool and he wants to chill with you.
He wants to hang out with you...or just hang upside-down, if that's OK with you!
Ice Bat is there for you when you feel like you may be loosing your cool, or feeling like a fool.
Don't panic! Don't stress! Grab Ice Bat and put him to the test.

Wedgehead
Wedgehead has his eye on you. and he likes what he sees!
Finally someone who understands him!
He is very handsome too...can't you tell?
What do you mean he looks pitiful? Look at that charismatic posture!
Wedgehead understands you too. He sees things the way you see them...
OK so he has to stand on his head to do so but still!
He understands exactly what you mean.
Wedgehead and his best buddy OX are on a mission to prove that humans really do exist
and he would like you to help them on their quest. The proof can be found in the snacks! Have any?

Ox
What kind of name is OX?
No- not like the animal OX- as in HUG and KISS!
How can he hug you with such short arms?
OX uses his ears! He's not a very good listener but he puts his ears to good use in many other ways!
OX is great at magic, and his best trick is turning your stuff into his stuff.
His best buddy Wedgehead calls that stealing but OX just wants to borrow things from you
for a few hundred years. He promises to put everything back when he's done.
What he wants to steal most are kisses whether they're in the chocolate variety or just plain and
he promises to be your friend if you would lend him a hand, or an ear...or like Two Dollars!

Bop N Beep
Bop n' Beep love to do everyting together. Be it an arguement over snacks, which movie to see, or what color race car not to drive, they always see things quite differently from one another. Bop gets along really well with Ox (they see things X to X) while Beep happens to think Wedgehead really knows his stuff. (just stuff, you know.) So hey are Bop n' Beep really attached to each other, or are they just really good pals? They got each others backs Jack! Now they just need you to play referee.

Moxy
Moxy's got a lot of "moxy". She's a real get up and go Ugly, with far more energy than her older brother OX. Moxy's favorite activity seems to be bouncing off the walls and jumping in and out of mischief. Her giant antennas are always on the look out for a good time, and she can hear a party from miles away. She could hear you coming from all the way back over there! Are you a party animal? No? Would you like to take care of one? No? Well that's ok because Moxy is here to take care of you. She can take care of pretty much any problem you may have...it's a gift of hers. For example, see how messy your room is? No problem! See? Moxy is on your side.

Chuckanucka
Ok, you know what? Chuckanucka. That's what. Chuckanucka worries about pretty much everything under the sun: What if the phone rings when I go out? What if the mail man tries to deliver my Deluxe Ugly Earmuffs when I'm in the bathroom? Hey, I don't remember leaving the closet door open just a crack like that! What if I can't ever stop thinking about my name over and over? Chuckanucka has a pretty strange way of looking at life. Sometimes he wonders if this is all just a hologram, and on other days he wonders what's going to happen if they stop making CD players... How will I play my favorite CDs??? I have over nine of them!!! Poor Chuckanucka. Lucky Chuckanucka.

Peaco
Peaco is very shy. Well... shy on the outside. On the inside, Peaco is a wild man! You can see it in his eyes. All three. Peaco really shines when he’s doing what he does best. DANCING! Peaco loves to dance in the water...much to the dread of his cousin Cinko. Why dance in the water? Well, think about it! When you dance in the water, no one can see you! SHY! Remember? It’s kind of a pain explaining water dancing to lifeguards though. Please dance with Peaco. He’s seen your moves! (So don’t step on his ears.)
